[ubuntu-nl gemeenschapsraad] Fwd: Question about the use of the trademark name Ubuntu

Ik heb net contact gehad over dit onderwerp met de notaris. Het is geen
probleem om vast een stichting op te richten met de voorgestelde naam
"Stichting ondersteuning Ubuntu-NL". Hoogstens zou de notaris een
bericht kunnen krijgen van de kamer van koophandel of ze ons er op
willen wijzen dat de term Ubuntu al geclaimed is. Maar eigenlijk gebeurt
dat alleen bij veel gebruikte namen. Verder is het tussen de stichting
en Canonical of er een probleem is of niet, maakt Canonical er geen
probleem van, dan is er geen probleem.

Aangezien ik uit het antwoord van Canonical een intentieverklaring meen
op te maken om Ubuntu-NL toestemming te geven voor het gebruik van de
term Ubuntu in de naam, maar dat de daadwerkelijke toestemming alleen
nog in een officiële licentie gegoten moet worden, lijkt het me geen
probleem om verder te gaan met het oprichtingsproces, en gewoon de
voorgestelde naam voor de stichting te gebruiken. Gezien de intentie die
uit het antwoord van Canonical blijkt, is niet te verwachten dat
Canonical bezwaar zal aantekenen tegen de naam van de stichting.
